We checked Lilia into the hospital yesterday and discovered that she has a urinary tract infection. She woke up yesterday morning with a “light” fever and stomach pains and we took to her 2 month checkup around noon. By then her temperature had risen to 102, she had diarrhea several times while the doctor attempted to obtain a urine sample from her, and then she vomited 3 or 4 times in a row onto. She has since been on an antibiotic drip and we can hopefully take her home tomorrow. We have never had a more heartbreaking moment than when trying to calm Lilia as she screamed at the top of her tiny little lungs while three nurses tried to find a vein to put her IV into. After finally getting her calmed back down and fed Elise discovered a little wet spot on her clothes where Lilia’s foot had been. The needle had moved enough to be spilling out and we had to go through the whole painful process again.

So glad to hear that Lilia is feeling better and on her way home soon. She will be so happy – and so will you. Also glad to hear they have narrowed down the problem (reflux being what I had suspected because I know two people who hve dealt with this situation) and that a dr. will soon be there to give a firm diagnosis. Will continue to pray for you all and for full recovery for Lilia as the situation is resolved.
