God answers prayer!

i love candy!

In August we met with Lilia’s urologist and he said surgery seemed inevitable and that we would probably have to proceed with surgery after her next kidney test. We repeated the kidney scan and an ultrasound a couple of weeks ago and we met with the doctor last Thursday. He said her kidneys appear to be getting better! They certainly are not healed yet, but the kidney scan showed an improved ability to rid itself of urine. Imagine your kitchen sink. If there is food in the drain (an obstruction) the water drains slowly. If you take a piece of that food out, it will drain a little faster. While Lilia’s obstruction is probably just a narrowed ureter, the illustration remains. The urine seems to be draining quicker and the doctor said he anticipates it to continue to improve. She probably will never need surgery! Some have said that she might just be growing out of the problem, but we are giving all the praise and glory to the Lord. He is good! Instead of repeating the tests every 3 months, we can now wait about 6! Praise God for His faithfulness.

That's my girl.

Forward Baptist

These past couple of weeks we had the privilege of hosting our field director’s home church. Forward Baptist Church of Cambridge, ON sent a service team of 14 people (some were from Ceder Creek Church) for 14 days. We had a fun time getting to know this diverse group and we know that Mike and his family enjoyed building relationship with their supporters. The group worked mostly at our new site in Pachacamac doing tile work, installing doors, landscaping, and building a chicken coup.

Some of the women in the group were able to help at the Oasis, sewing and joining the Bible studies with the Moms Helping Moms program.
