Taking the Boys to Pucusana

Last Sunday we took the boys to a local fishing village.

A typical afternoon at Pucusana begins with a boat tour through the fishing boats and out into the ocean following the coast.

Once outside the village, tourists are treated to a variety of birds as well as sea lions (I’ve even seen a penguin once).

After thirty minutes of seeing the wildlife we decided to add fishing into our venture.

At the end of the day we took the boys over to an amazing little, natural inlet where the water sprays up after crashing into some rocks. The boys were pretty amazed.

To camp!

All the little kids went to camp this week and Jon was in the area, so he stopped by to take some pics.

Please pray that the kids are touched spiritually and that they grow in their faith.

Also, pray that they have lots of fun and make new friends!

When it’s this hot, you just have to sleep in your diaper!

Hello? HELLO?

Is anyone there? I know we have been gone a long while, but we’re BACK! I promise we will be better about updating from now on! Stay with us…PLEASE!

We went home for Christmas. It would have broken everyone’s hearts to miss Lilia’s first Christmas and I guess ours too. )Who would have guessed that sharing a baby is so much fun?) We went home to Indiana for a little over 2 weeks to spend the holidays with our family. Unfortunately, the time was spread thin between events and we didn’t make it up to NW Indiana.

The time was sweet beyond belief and we savored every single moment. Take a look at some of the highlights.

The trip was very long and we missed one of our flights. Lilia was such a trooper!

Jon’s family stopped through Richmond for a couple days on their way to Florida.  It was good to see them!

We were so relieved when Lilia LOVED hanging out with grandma and grandpa!  It would have broken our hearts if she didn’t warm up to those we love the most.  She must have sensed the love from them because BOY did she LOVE them back!!!

We also spent a weekend at a lodge with my mom’s extended family.  We had a great time…but couldn’t find our camera :(
We are now back in Peru and Jon is picking up our first new team of the New Year. Summer school starts for the kids on Monday and Jon and I both are ‘leading’ classes. Stay tuned for details!!!!
