Here is our prayer letter for June 2010.
Fresh eyes.
I can’t get over how shocked and humbled I can still be after living in Peru for three years. Today I met two malnourished children. Skinny. Hair falling out. Insufficient clothing to protect them from the cold. Runny noses. Dirty. Shy from probable mistreatment. It was extremely sad. Then, I learned that their chances of learning and reading are greatly diminished by their malnutrition. I was even more sad.
Then, I left and came home to Lilia.
…and asked the age old question…why was she born to me and those children to their parents? I’m not sure what the answer is, but I am humbled, changed once again and grateful for Hope.
